Privacy Policy

This policy describes how Kneesvibrant collects, uses, stores, and protects personal information, and the rights you have over it. We have written it in plain language so you can understand exactly what happens to anything you share.

1. Who we are

Kneesvibrant ("we", "us", or "our") is an editorial project that publishes general, non-medical informational content about everyday routines, with a focus on evening habits. For the purposes of the European Union and United Kingdom General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the Australian Privacy Act, we act as the data controller for the personal information described in this policy.

If you have any question about this policy or about how we handle your information, you can reach us using the details above or through our contact page.

2. The information we collect

We aim to collect as little personal information as possible, and only what we genuinely need. The categories below describe everything we may gather.

2.1 Information you give us directly

When you complete the contact form, you choose to provide your name, your email address, and the content of your message. You also confirm, by ticking the consent box, that you are happy for us to use these details to reply to you. You are never required to share more than this, and we ask that you avoid sending sensitive personal information through the form.

2.2 Information collected automatically

Like most websites, our hosting environment may record limited technical data when you visit, such as your browser type, approximate region derived from an IP address, the pages you view, and the date and time of access. This information helps keep the website secure and functioning. Where this data can identify you, we treat it as personal information under this policy.

2.3 Information from cookies

We use a small number of cookies and similar technologies. Strictly necessary cookies are always active because the site cannot work without them. Analytics and marketing cookies are only set if you give permission through our cookie banner. Our Cookie Policy describes each category in detail.

3. How and why we use your information

We only process personal information where we have a clear and lawful reason to do so. The table below sets out each purpose and the corresponding lawful basis under the GDPR.

  • To respond to your enquiry. When you message us, we use your name, email, and message to read and reply. Lawful basis: your consent, and our legitimate interest in answering people who contact us.
  • To keep the website secure and reliable. We use technical log data to detect, prevent, and investigate misuse or technical faults. Lawful basis: our legitimate interest in protecting the service and its visitors.
  • To understand general usage. With your permission, we use anonymised or aggregated analytics to improve our content. Lawful basis: your consent.
  • To meet legal obligations. We may process information where the law requires us to, for example to respond to a valid legal request. Lawful basis: compliance with a legal obligation.

We do not use your information to make automated decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects, and we do not sell your personal information to anyone.

4. Sharing your information

We do not trade or rent personal information. We may share limited information with carefully chosen service providers who help us operate the website, strictly as needed and under contract. These may include:

  • A website hosting provider that stores the site and its server logs.
  • An email provider used to receive and reply to your messages.
  • An analytics provider, used only where you have consented to analytics cookies.

Each provider is required to keep your information secure, to use it only for the purposes we specify, and to respect your rights. We may also disclose information where we are legally compelled to do so, or where it is necessary to protect the rights and safety of others.

5. International transfers

Some of our service providers may process data outside the country where you live, including outside the European Economic Area. Where this happens, we take reasonable steps to ensure your information receives an appropriate level of protection, for example through recognised contractual safeguards or by working with providers in jurisdictions that offer comparable protection.

6. How long we keep your information

We retain personal information only for as long as necessary for the purpose we collected it, and then delete or anonymise it.

  • Contact enquiries: kept for up to twenty-four (24) months after our last contact with you, so we can refer back to the conversation if you write again, after which they are deleted.
  • Technical server logs: typically kept for no longer than twelve (12) months.
  • Analytics data: retained according to the settings of our analytics provider, generally no longer than fourteen (14) months in identifiable form.

If a legal obligation requires us to keep certain information for longer, we will retain it only for that required period and for that purpose.

7. How we protect your information

We apply reasonable technical and organisational measures designed to protect personal information against loss, misuse, and unauthorised access. These include encrypted connections (HTTPS) across the entire website, restricted access to messages on a need-to-know basis, regular review of who can access information, and prompt removal of data we no longer need. While no method of transmission or storage can be guaranteed to be completely secure, we work to keep our safeguards appropriate to the limited information we hold.

8. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may hold some or all of the following rights regarding your personal information. We are happy to help you exercise them.

  • Access: request a copy of the personal information we hold about you.
  • Rectification: ask us to correct information that is inaccurate or incomplete.
  • Erasure: ask us to delete your information where there is no good reason for us to keep it.
  • Restriction: ask us to pause our use of your information in certain circumstances.
  • Objection: object to processing based on our legitimate interests.
  • Portability: request that we transfer your information to you or another provider in a structured, commonly used format.
  • Withdraw consent: where we rely on consent, withdraw it at any time without affecting earlier processing.

To make a request, contact us using the details in section 1. We will respond within the timeframe required by law, usually within one month. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection authority, such as the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner or your local supervisory authority in the EU or UK.

9. Children's privacy

Our website offers general reading intended for an adult audience and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with information, please contact us and we will take appropriate steps to remove it.

10. Links to other websites

Our pages may occasionally reference other resources. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of any third-party website, and we encourage you to read the privacy notice of any site you visit.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or the law. When we do, we will revise the "last updated" date shown at the top of this page. Significant changes will be made clear on the website. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.

12. Contact us
